Platelet-Rich Plasma

Platelet-Rich Plasma Treatment works by drawing blood from a patient and then injecting into the damaged tendon or muscle, filling the area with healing cells and encouraging natural repair. These injections contain plasma with higher concentration platelets than what is normally found in blood. PRP injections attempt to take advantage of the blood’s natural healing properties to repair damaged cartilage, tendons, ligaments, muscles, or even bone. Platelet-rich plasma injections are outpatient procedures.
