What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture originates from China and has been practiced there for thousands of years. Although there are records of acupuncture being used hundreds of years ago in Europe, it was during the second half of the twentieth century it began to spread rapidly in Western Europe, the United States, and Canada. It is most often used for pain relief, though it is also used for a wide range of other conditions. It is often used in combination with other forms of treatment.

How is Acupuncture performed?
Acupuncture involves the insertion of very thin needles through the patient’s skin at specific points on the body – the needles are inserted to various depths.

Why is Acupuncture performed?
Acupuncture is used mainly to relieve discomfort associated with a variety of diseases and conditions, including Headaches, Labor pain, Low back pain, Neck pain, Osteoarthritis, chemotherapy-induced and postoperative nausea and vomiting, Dental pain, Fibromyalgia, and Menstrual cramps.

How long does the procedure take?
The procedure normally takes around 20 minutes to complete.
